Naidu to sack 3-4 ministers by next month?

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is likely to reshuffle his cabinet after Sankranti festival in January, according to sources close to the power centre in the state.

Apparently, Naidu is unhappy with the performance of three to four ministers in the present cabinet and he might drop them from the cabinet during the reshuffle. He has already given hints to these ministers to this effect, sources said.

According to sources, state home minister Vangalapudi Anitha is one of the ministers who might face the axe.

“It is not just Pawan Kalyan, but even Naidu is not happy with her performance, as most of the times, she prefers to stay in Hyderabad, rather than Vijayawada or Amaravati,” sources said.

In fact, there is a talk in the party that it was Naidu who had asked Pawan Kalyan to make critical comments against Anitha.

“If the chief minister makes any comment against her, it would send a wrong signal as she is from the SC community,” sources said.

Another minister who might be sacked is state labour minister Vasamsetti Subhash, whom Naidu pulled up directly during the teleconference held with ministers and in-charge ministers of East Godavari district on Sunday evening.

Naidu reportedly expressed unhappiness over the way Subhash was displaying lethargy in enrolling the voters in the graduates’ constituency in the district.

“Despite being a first time MLA, I made you the minister. But you have no seriousness towards politics,” he said to the minister, adding that he would not hesitate to drop him, if he did not improve his performance.

The other ministers who are facing the threat of losing cabinet berths are said to be: Kondapalli Srinivasa, B C Janardhan Reddy and M Ramprasad Reddy, sources added.
