Telugu Desam Party president and Leader of Opposition in the State Assembly N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday finally committed himself on the Telangana statehood issue.
Naidu declared in the Assembly that he would disclose his stand – whether he is for bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh or not – when his turn comes to speak on the issue in the Assembly on Monday.
“I know everybody is targeting me on the State bifurcation issue and wants to know my view on the bifurcation. I will disclose on Monday whether I am for bifurcation of the State or not,” he said.
He said he was pointing out the mistakes in the Bill irrespective of Samaikyandhra or division of the State.
He said that he had pointed out the irregularities in the Bill much before, but the Chief Minister has not responded in time.
Now, one has to wait and see what stand the TDP president would take: whether he will continue to speak in an ambiguous manner or make his stand clear for or against bifurcation. In any case, he will be in deep trouble on Monday.
