The Bharatiya Janata Party, which is desperate to win the assembly elections to Delhi, is roping in its alliance partners in the campaign.
Accordingly, Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is set to campaign for BJP candidates in Delhi.
Naidu, who will be going to New Delhi on Saturday night, will campaign in parts of Delhi, especially in the areas with a significant Telugu voter base, on February 2 (Sunday). BJP’s local leaders have already finalized the campaign schedule.
According to reports suggest that around six lakh voters from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana reside in Delhi.
Given the significance of each constituency, the BJP is making an all-out effort to secure victory. Naidu will emphasize the necessity of BJP’s victory and urge voters to support Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Interestingly, there has been no information about the campaign by Jana Sena Party chief and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan on behalf of the BJP in Delhi assembly elections.
Though BJP leaders have hinted that Pawan Kalyan might also join the Delhi election campaign, but no official schedule has been announced yet. The election campaign will conclude on February 3, with polling scheduled for February 5.
In the Maharashtra assembly elections last year, both Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan were scheduled to campaign for BJP in Maharashtra, but Naidu had to return due to the demise of his brother Ramamurthy Naidu.
Pawan Kalyan, however, campaigned in Maharashtra, and the BJP-led alliance secured a sweeping victory in the constituencies where he campaigned.
Now, all eyes are on the voter response in the constituencies where Chandrababu Naidu is campaigning.
