Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, who conveniently managed to escape from expressing his views in the Assembly on the bifurcation issue, is now shedding crocodile tears.
According to sources, Naidu has asked the party leaders from both the regions to celebrate, as the TDP is going to be a force in both Telangana and Seemandhra.
The two-eyed policy being adopted by the party would fetch results in the long run, he is learnt to have told the party leaders.
Yet, the TDP president sought to project as if the Congress alone is responsible for political chaos in the state.
On Friday, Naidu alleged that the Congress was playing games on the issue of bifurcation of the State.
He said everything was going on as per the script written in 10-Janpath and the same was being implemented by leaders in the State.
The Congress was not only conspiring to bifurcate the State, but also trying to divide the Telugu people, he said, adding that the TRS and YSRCP were working as per directions from Delhi.
Expressing concern over denying him an opportunity to speak in the Assembly during the debate on Telangana Bill, Naidu reminded that he was Chief Minister of the State for nine years and also functioned as Leader of the Opposition twice. But no opportunity was given to him to speak on the issue as Leader of the Opposition.
“Is it not the responsibility of the Speaker and the government to allow me to speak”, he asked.
He, however, had no answer as to why he did not give his speech in writing to the Speaker, like many of the MLAs and ministers. Well, that would have exposed his double standards!
