If at all there is anybody who has to be blamed for the passage of Telangana bill in such a dictatorial manner, it must be Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu.
On Tuesday, Naidu is learnt to have virtually broke down before the party leaders in New Delhi, stating that the Congress party was splitting the State only to crush the TDP and that his career has come to an end. In the last one week, Naidu made all out efforts to see that the bifurcation process was halted but could not succeed in his lobbying.
He even tried use the Ramoji card and Mukesh Ambani influence, but in vain.
Unfortunately, Naidu has to blame himself for the present situation.
He should have taken a firm stand against the division of the State right from the beginning, instead of adopting a two-eyed policy.
He should not have written a letter to Pranab Mukherjee committee in 2008 in support of Telangana State and allied with the TRS just for petty political gains.
At least after the Congress Working Committee decision, Naidu should have taken a firm stand against the bifurcation like Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. Yet, Naidu continued his double standards.
So, why shed crocodile tears now, Mr Naidu?
