Naidu Portrait Used As Waste Bin

Naidu Portrait Used As Waste Bin

In what is considered to be a big insult for Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the employees of the higher education department in AP Secretariat at Velagapudi on Monday used his portrait as a waste bin to place the used plates after having snacks.

According to information from the secretariat, the higher education department held a meeting with the department staff at the conference hall in the fourth block of the Secretariat to review the department works. Several senior officials attended the meeting and there were served with snacks and tea.

However, there were no dust bins or waste baskets in the conference room to dump the used plates, after the officials finished their snacks. Since they cannot dump them on floor, they found a heap of framed photographs at a corner of the table. All the used plates were placed on this heap one after the other.

Whether the employees noticed it or not, the top photograph in the heap was that of the chief minister. Apart from the photographs of Naidu, there were pictures of some gods also in the heap, but nobody bothered to find out what they were. So, the used plates were dumped on Naidu’s photograph, as if it was a dust bin.

It was only after the attenders started cleaning the tables, they realised that Naidu’s photo was desecrated. They brought it to the notice of the higher authorities who pulled up the staff.

On coming to know about it, the TDP leaders are trying to make a big issue out of it demanding action against the officials concerned.
