Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday sought to allay the fears of farmers on changes in the master plan of new capital city Amaravati, stating that the apprehensions were the creation of certanin vested interests.
He also found fault with his Cabinet colleagues for not clearing doubts in this regard.
With the agitation by farmers who had given their land to the capital city snowballing into a major political turmoil, Naidu tried to undo the damage done by his Cabinet colleagues, soon after his return from Switzerland.
Talking to media persons, he said some persons who were politically idle deliberately misled the farmers on the allotment of plots in the capital region.
“And our ministers, who are not aware of the consequences if any changes are made to the master plan of the capital are only adding to the confusion," he said.
He said he would clarify all the doubts and misunderstandings.
"If we make any changes in the master plan and divert the routes for the express ways, the end capital will not be as per our plan. Finally, both the Government and the farmers have to suffer," he said.
The Chief Minister made it clear that talks will be held with the farmers in a couple of days and the problems will be resolved after getting to know their difficulties.
"We will see to it that not even a single farmer faces any trouble of even a minute nature," he stated.
