TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu is now the most trusted betrayer in the country. He has earned this tag for his politically opportunistic alliances over the years.
As he tries to align again with the BJP in the two Telugu states for the next round of general elections, BJP leaders are talking about Naidu’s trustworthiness and his opportunistic alliances.
There is not a single political party with which Naidu has not aligned at any point in time.
The CPI, the CPI-M, the BJP, the TRS, and the Jana Sena are the parties with which Chandrababu Naidu had an electoral alliance.
He even forged an alliance with the Congress at the national level and in Telangana in the 2018-19 general election.
The BJP leaders who strongly oppose an alliance with Naidu are now digging into this history of the TDP chief and advising their leadership not to go with the TDP again.
While pro-Naidu forces are working hard to stitch the alliance between the BJP and the TDP, the anti-Naidu forces are working equally hard to break the alliance.
Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are not happy with Naidu, not for breaking the alliance with the BJP in 2018 but for forging an alliance with the Congress.
Interestingly, the Congress leadership too is not trusting Naidu now as he broke the alliance immediately after the 2018 Telangana elections.
The Congress leaders too are not ready to take him on board and take him seriously for his betrayal politics.
Thus, Naidu is neither in the NDA nor in the UPA, all because of his opportunistic politics.
It remains to be seen what new alliance Naidu will stitch in Andhra Pradesh when the state goes for elections in 2024.
