Apparently jolted by the exodus of four MLAs and one MLC from Telangana into the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu held an emergency meeting with the other TDP MLAs.
Interestingly, two of the MLAs – Dharma Reddy from Parkal and Prakash Goud from Rajendranagar, who had met TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao in the morning, returned to the TDP fold, after Naidu called them and assured to take care of their interests.
Telangana TDP leader L Ramana later told media that Dharma Reddy and Prakash Goud were not leaving the party.
Dharma Reddy and Prakash Goud declared that they had met KCR on some public issues.
“I will continue to remain in the TDP for the next five years,” Prakash said, obviously under the threat from Naidu that he would be disqualified if he changed the party.
Meanwhile, senior TDP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao reiterated that he would not join the ruling TRS at any cost.
Alleging that ruling party was luring legislators and leaders from TDP, Errabelli asserted that he would be in the TDP till his last breath.
He also stated that meeting KCR was not a mistake. Some MLAs might have called on KCR to discuss people’s problems, he opined.
