Naidu institutionalised corruption, not Jagan!

YSR Congress party on Saturday took strong exception to the comments of Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu that leader of opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy should surrender all his additional assets acquired through alleged illegal means after 2004 to the government.

Naidu had accused Jagan of amassing huge wealth after 2004, taking advantage of the ruling of his father Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.

“If he wants, he can retain 20 per cent of the value of the assets he had got after 2004. All the remaining wealth should be surrendered to the state government,” Naidu said the other day.

Flaying Naidu for his remarks, YSR Congress party spokesman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy said it was the TDP president who had institutionalised corruption and so, it was ridiculous on his part to level allegations against Jagan.

He said everybody knew when Naidu entered politics, he had just two acre land and now he and his family members had risen to be owning up multi-crore rupees worth of assets and business institutions.

“His corruption and business deals were exposed by national media very prominently even before 2004 and he speaking of integrity is absurd. He ran away from the city in a hurry after the cash for vote case came to light and has been working for furthering his personal interests at the cost of state interests,” Bhumana said.

The YSRC leader said sending Lokesh in his personal capacity to Singapore after the change of guard in that country shows his business interests and using public money for that purpose is highly objectionable.

“During his second term beginning 2014 he has acquired more than 4 lakh crores in a space of three and half  years and the comparison of his assets with his political entry in 1978 will vouch for the swell of wealth,” he said.

He demanded that Naidu he should order a CBI inquiry into allegations leveled against him to prove his innocence.
