Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s statement in the so-called smart household survey that he does not have his own house in the state is being taken with a pinch of salt by the political observers.
Naidu told the enumerators, of course in front of the full media glare, that he does not own a house in Andhra Pradesh; and that the 5,000 sq ft house in which he is living has been hired by the state government.
Naidu might have thought it would get him sympathy from public, but in fact, he became a butt of ridicule in the eyes of the people.
“Naidu has no own house? Poor fellow. If that is correct, I am richer than Naidu,” said maverick CPI leader K Narayana. “By saying so, Naidu has made the entire exercise a big farce,” he said.
Everybody knows Naidu has a big house in Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad, besides some other real estate properties. Assuming that the survey is confined only to Andhra Pradesh, then what about his house in Naravaripalle in Chittoor district? Is it not in his name?
