The YSR Congress Party on Wednesday alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu was encouraging land mafia in Vijayawada in the name of capital of the State.
Speaking to media, YSRCP leader Tammineni Sitaram said that land, sand, sandal, political and corporate mafia was ruling the roost in Andhra Pradesh.
He demanded that inquiry by sitting judge be ordered on the land mafia in Vijayawada. He alleged that TDP elected representatives and followers of Naidu have been encroaching valuable land in Vijayawada city.
“The statements of Chief Minister pointing that Vijayawada would be the capital have encouraged his close associates to buy large extent of land in the peripheries stretching to the neighbouring district and the prices have soared to unbelievable heights,” he said.
He further alleged that murders that had taken place in Krishna district on Wednesday had connection with the land mafia.
He questioned as to whether Naidu was going to create Vijayawada as mafia city in Andhra Pradesh.
