Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu seems to be carried away by the new schemes introduced by his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao and decided to implement the same in his State.
The other day, Naidu announced the launch of Water Grid, one of the flagship programmes of KCR, in Andhra Pradesh, too.
He explained the same to a group of business delegates from Europe. Naidu, however, claimed before the European delegation that Water Grid was his brainchild and the delegation appreciated his “unique” programme.
And on Friday, the AP Chief Minister launched “She Auto” services in Vijayawada, stating that it is a unique endeavor to ensure economic empowerment of women and would provide safety to women passengers.
Under the government’s flagship ‘She Auto’ scheme, the Chief Minister distributed auto-rickshaws worth Rs 1 crore to 49 women. The government has provided 7 percent subsidy to each auto that originally costs Rs 1,91,000. The remaining amount could be paid in 40 installments @ Rs 4,500 per month. Officials have estimated that the beneficiaries could earn up to Rs 18,000 per month.
In fact, the scheme is already under implementation in Hyderabad in the name of “She Cabs” which is a big success story of Telangana!
