Naidu Advises Rahul Gandhi

Naidu Advises Rahul Gandhi

The Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu's flip-flops on crucial issues concerning the state are well known.

But, even on innocuous matters, Naidu has now started committing blunders.

It is a well known fact that he has goofed up several times on a delicate issue like Telangana statehood demand.

Now, even when it comes to criticizing his political rivals, Naidu has started making obvious mistakes.

The latest instance is Naidu's attack on the Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi over the issue of ordinance on protection of convicted lawmakers.

Rahul recently made a public statement denouncing the ordinance, cleared by his own party government at the  Centre, as "complete nonsense" and deserved to "torn up and thrown away".

The TDP chief also opposed the ordinance, saying it amounted to encouraging criminalization of politics.

However, in the same breath, he assailed Rahul for his public outbursts against the ordinance.

"Rahul should learn to conduct himself with dignity," Naidu told reporters on Wednesday on his arrival in Delhi to participate in a youth convention where he will be sharing the dais with Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

Naidu appears to be adopting double standards on the issue of denouncing the controversial ordinance.

It is perfectly for him to criticize the ordinance but if Rahul does the same it is not acceptable to him. In fact, the TDP supremo said that Rahul should apologize for his outbursts.

"He should not hanker after the Prime Minister's position but should serve the people selflessly," Naidu advised.
