Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu can be considered a better event manager than a political leader.
It was evident from the way Naidu put up the show at the national women’s parliament being held in Amaravati for the last three days.
The entire Vijayawada town was bedecked with flowers and lights, as if some festival is being held. There are hoardings and huge cut-outs all over the city with life size images of Naidu and the TDP leaders.
The roads are kept clean and neat. The Prakasam barrage was illuminated with colourful nights. And the road leading from Ibrahimpatnam to “Pavitra Sangamam” (where Godavari river flowing from Pattiseema project joins Krishna river” was decorated to the awe of the visitors.
Arrangements were transport and food were made in an unprecedented manner. Girl students were brought from Narayana group of institutions and other neighbouring girls’ colleges. And most of the girl volunteers are from K L University, who were given special dresses and caps.
A massive make-shift hall was created at the place where the main event was organised and it was fully air-conditioned. Besides, a huge stage was erected on the banks of Krishna river for the cultural programmes.
Apparently, more than Rs 25 crore was spent on the three-day mega event. And what was the purpose of the whole event? It is better not to ask. All in all, everybody commented that Naidu is a big show master and a great event manager!
