Jana Sena Party leader and party president and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan’s elder brother Konidela Nagababu is going to get a key post in the state as the Chandrababu Naidu government is going to fill up several nominated posts in the next couple of days.
According to sources, Nagababu’s name was one of the several names suggested by the Jana Sena party chief for the nominated posts on behalf of the party. As decided, the party is likely to get 20 percent of the total number of nominated posts.
Sources said Nagababu’s name is being considered for the post of chairman of AP Film and Television Development Corporation (APFTDC), for which there is intense competition from the TDP leaders as well, including Ghattamaneni Adiseshagiri Rao and C Ashwini Dutt.
Alternatively, Nagababu may be offered the post of chairman of Sri Venkateshwara Bhakti Channel (SVBC). But the Jana Sena Party leader might prefer the APFTDC, because of the connections with the film industry.
Earlier, there was a talk that Nagababu has asked for Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams chairman post, but Pawan Kalyan has denied the rumours. There is a stiff competition from within the TDP for the TTD chairman post.
In fact, Pawan Kalyan reportedly requested Naidu to nominate his elder brother to Rajya Sabha. Though Naidu has agreed for the same, there are no immediate elections to the Upper House, unless any YSRCP MP defects to the TDP and vacates his seat.
Till such time, Nagababu will be appointed in a key position in acknowledgement of his services to the Jana Sena Party as well as the alliance in the last assembly elections. All said and done, Nagababu has done hard work for the victory of the alliance partners.
He played a major role in managing the campaign for Pawan Kalyan in Pithapuram assembly constituency. Besides, he also made a lot of efforts in consolidating the Kapu vote bank by holding a series of meetings with them.
