At a time when there has been a talk among the Congress party circles in Andhra Pradesh that former assembly speaker Nadendla Manohar would be made Pradesh Congress Committee chief, a sudden report in a section of media raised many an eyebrow.
According to this report, Nadendla had a meeting with power star and Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan at his residence in Hyderabad four days ago.
Nobody knows what transpired between the two, but it was obvious that they had discussed the present political scenario in the state. The meeting lasted more than four hours, the report said.
Naturally, the meeting led to the speculation that Nadendla might be contemplating joining the Jana Sena Party, as he has realised that there is no future for the Congress in Andhra Pradesh.
Since the former Speaker represents a powerful community in central coastal Andhra, it would be a plus point for Jana Sena if he joins hands with Pawan.
However, it was only a few days ago that Nadendla, along with several Congress leaders, met AICC president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi and discussed the ways to strengthen the Congress party in Andhra Pradesh.
Under these circumstances, his meeting with Pawan, who is dead against the Congress party, will definitely raise a lot of suspicions.
