Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Preadesh and Telangana State, Bhanwar Lal lashed out at political parties and leaders for levelling false allegations against him over deletion of lakhs of voters in GHMC limits, especially those of Seemandhra voters, to nesure win for ruling TRS in ensuing GHMC elections.
Bhanwar Lal said as an IAS officer, he was given AP cadre and all the salaries and perks were being paid to him by AP government and where is the need for him to follow the directions of Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao and delete the votes of Seemandhra voters in GHMC limits.
"Some political parties and leaders are levelling false allegations against me saying that I am removing votes of Seemandhra voters in GHMC limits as per the directions of KCR. Where is the need for me to do all that. I am not a Telangana cadre IAS officer to hear or fear KCR. I am an AP-cadre IAS officer and my salary is paid by AP government," Bhanwar Lal said.
However, he admitted mistakes in deletion of voters due to negligence of some booth-level officials.
Claiming himself to be a strict and honest officer, he said that he worked under six CMs so far and got transferred number of times just because he refused to adhere to the instructions or directions given by CMs which were not in accordance with the rule book.
