Muhurtam for capital shift to be fixed on Monday?

Notwithstanding the high court directions and agitation by farmers of Amaravati, the YSR Congress party government headed by chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is making preparations quietly for shifting the administrative capital of Andhra Pradesh from Amaravati to Visakhapatnam.

While the general impression being  given by the YSRC leaders is that Jagan would be operating from Visakhapatnam from Telugu New Year Day – Ugadi, falling on March 25, sources say the actual muhurtham for commencing his functioning has not yet been finalised.

In all probability, the muhurtam would be fixed by Swaroopanandendra Swamy of Visakha Sarada Peetham on Monday, when the chief minister would be visiting his ashram during his quick visit to Visakhapatnam.

The Visakha Sarada Peetham at Chinna Mushidiwada on the outskirts of Vizag would be celebrating its anniversary celebrations on Monday and Jagan would be the special invitee for the function.

The chief minister, who will be leaving his Tadepalli residence at 9 am would land in Visakhapatnam in a special flight at 10.10 am.

He will be straightaway going to Visakha Sarada Peetham ashram to take part in the anniversary celebrations.

He is expected to hold one-on-one meeting with Swamy after the event, before returning to Vijayawada by 1.40 pm.

“The Swamy is expected to fix the auspicious muhurtam for the inauguration of CM’s Office at Visakhapatnam. Most probably it will be around Ugadi only,” sources said.
