Even as the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in Telangana are struggling to put up a fight against the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government headed by chief minister K Chandrasekhr Rao, the comments made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the debate on no-trust motion in Lok Sabha came as a rude shock for them.
While trying to run down Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu during his speech, the Prime Minister was all praise for KCR for running the administration effectively.
“While KCR has focussed on development of his state in the last four years with a visionary approach, Naidu was confined to politicking on issues and blaming the Centre for everything,” Modi said.
It was definitely a pat on the back of KCR from Modi. So when the Prime Minister himself gave him such an appreciation on the floor of the Lok Sabha for leading the state into the path of development, what is there for the Telangana BJP leaders to attack the TRS government?
Who will listen to them if they say KCR is a bad administrator? If they want to say so, they should publicly condemn the Modi statement!
Only a few days ago BJP national president Amit Shah visited Hyderabad a direction to the party leadership in Telangana to fight against the KCR government. He gave a roadmap for the party leaders on how to go about with their campaign. But with Modi’s statement praising KCR, the party cadre is completely demoralised.
On the other hand, it has given a weapon to the Telangana Congress leaders. They can now confidently attack KCR saying he is hand in glove with the BJP, as was evident from Modi’s statement and also the way the TRS MPs stayed away from voting in favour of the no-confidence motion against the Modi government.
