If the rumour mills are to be believed, Megha Krishna Reddy, owner of the Megha Engineering Infrastructure Limited, is all set to buy the prestigious medical college, located near Mangalagiri in Guntur district.
He is said to have bagged the offer as the founders of the college are locked in court cases and its key founder Dr Mukkamala Appa Rao wants to get out of the institution.
Dr Mukkamala is now looking after the administration of the college, which has 250 MBBS seats and 150 PG medical seats.
The college also has teaching hospital, which is very popular in the area and is ideally located between Guntur and Vijayawada on the Chennai-Kolkata national highway.
The rumours say that ‘Megha’ Krishna Reddy had purchased the institution paying big amount.
Krishna Reddy is now constructing the prestigious Polavaram project, besides several projects in Andhra Pradesh.
He bagged the Polavaram work tender after Jagan Mohan Reddy government started the reverse tender process to bring down the cost.
Doing several major irrigation project works in the state, Krishna Reddy is venturing into the education field by taking over the existing medical college, if the rumours are to be quoted.
