Now that Kiran Kumar Reddy stepped down from the Chief Minister’s post, there has been pressure on the Congress high command to choose his successor. And the aspirants have started using the caste cards to stake claim.
Rural Development Minister Dokka Manikya Varaprasada Rao opined that the Centre should give priority to a leader of SC, ST, BC community if it wants to appoint another Chief Minister for Andhra Pradesh.
He, however, said said he would abide by the decision of the Centre on either President’s Rule or appoint another Chief Minister for time-being.
“It is up to the Centre to decide on whether to impose President’s Rule in the State as Kiran Kumar Reddy quit post of Chief Minister besides quitting MLA and party membership”.
If at all a decision is taken to appoint a new Chief Minister for over a couple of months, the Centre has to think of giving a chance to SC, ST or BC communities.
“Whatever the decision of the Centre and party high command, I have to follow it”, he said.
