Abhishek Singhvi, the lawyer for Kejriwal, argued in the ED special court on Wednesday that Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy and his son, Magunta Raghava, were allowed to act as approvers only after mentioning Chief Minister Kejriwal's name in the Delhi liquor scam.
Raghava was also granted bail only after that, he argued. Singhvi further stated that Magunta was given a seat from Ongole as the NDA alliance candidate for mentioning Kejriwal's name.
The Additional Solicitor General could not respond to the ED counsel's strong argument questioning whether it was quid pro quo.
As per sources, Chandrababu Naidu did not inform the BJP leaders before granting the seat to Magunta from TDP-Ongole.
BJP leaders in Delhi are expressing their anger after the TDP seat was given to Magunta and he campaigned as an alliance candidate.
The BJP bigwigs lament that this move has weakened the case against Kejriwal.
