Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh made the first significant electoral announcement of the season when he announced that present MP Butta Renuka will be the party candidate from Kurnool Parliamentary constituency in next elections.
He also declared Mohan Reddy as MLA candidate to Kurnool Assembly.
Such a major announcement stunned one and all as it was not Chandrababu but Lokesh who revealed it to the public and also, there are a lot of leaders in the fray in Kurnool aspiring for the ticket. Disgruntlement is naturally bound to set in.
Lokesh is said to be highly miffed with ABN Radhakrishna for not making the announcement front page news and instead, relegating it to a small column in the inside pages.
Interestingly, CBN had expressed his displeasure against Renuka for her poor performance.
Also, the TDP cadre in Kurnool are thunderstruck at Renuka being given the assurance as she had defected to TDP from the YSRCP whereas they had been loyal to the party all along.
