Lokesh meets Prashant Kishor: What's up?

Telugu Desam Party general secretary and Andhra Pradesh Information Technology minister Nara Lokesh flew down to New Delhi on Tuesday evening to meet some Union ministers to discuss the issues related to the state, besides meeting his party MPs.

During his tour, there was an interesting development. Popular political strategist and founder of Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) Prashant Kishor came to meet Lokesh at the official residence of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Both Lokesh and Prashant Kishor held discussions for a couple of hours. It is not immediately known what transpired between them, but it was certainly believed to be a significant development.

According to party sources, they discussed the present political situation prevailing in the state, particularly the coalition politics and the role being played by Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan in the coalition government.

Prashant Kishor, who has floated the Jan Suraj political party in Bihar, is now actively involved in the state politics. He is learnt to have explained to Lokesh the situation in Bihar and his plans.

At the same time, he has reportedly given some ideas to Lokesh on sustaining power in Andhra Pradesh and the strategies to prevent the rise of YSRCP in the coming days.

It may be mentioned that Prashant Kishor was engaged as a consultant, if not as a full-time strategist, for the TDP before 2024 assembly elections in the state. He flew down to Amaravati a couple of times to discuss with Lokesh and Naidu.

While all the other agencies predicted the possibility of returning of Jagan to power in Andhra Pradesh, it was Prashant Kishor who predicted a massive defeat for the YSRCP. And that was proved true!
