The results of elections to zilla parishads and mandal parishads in both Telangana and Seemandhra regions have failed to provide the feel of voters’ pulse clearly.
Going by the results announced so far, the outcome has pleased all the parties – the TRS and the Congress in the Telangana region; and Telugu Desam and YSRCP in Seemandhra. All the parties are a happy lot as the results of MPTC and ZPTC elections came in their favour initially.
Till the 5 pm, about 40 per cent of counting was done. While the TRS has already bagged the Adilabad and Nizamabad Zilla Parishads, the Congress is leading in other districts like Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda and Khammam. The fight is tough in other Telangana districts.
In the Seemandhra, there was a tug of war between TDP and YSRCP, though the TDP appears to have a slight edge. Nobody could predict which party will have the last laugh.
This tough contest has now forced the poll experts to have second thoughts before predicting the outcome of the Assembly and Parliament elections. Hats off to voters!
