Normally when a politician is accused of a crime or wrong-doing, his Party is quick to jump to his rescue terming it an act of political vendetta. However, Shashi Tharoor finds himself isolated in his most pressing hour of need.
It is public knowledge that the report of his wife, Sunanda’s death has been confirmed as murder and Tharoor himself is due to be questioned by the cops next week.
Tharoor is believed to have told his Party the Congress that he is a victim of politics and is being framed. However, the Congress is yet to come out with an official statement in support of Tharoor.
Either the Congress has inside information about the whole episode or this is their way of getting back at Tharoor who in recent times has been quite appreciative of Modi’s policies much to the discomfiture of the Congress.
