Land Grabbers Get 3 Months For Regularisation

Telangana government on Tuesday set a deadline of three months for regularization of all the occupied lands in the name of women in the State.  

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao directed the officials to regularize 125 sq yds land occupied by poor with Rs 2 lakh income by calling for applications within 20 days.

The poor people living in temporary sheds and huts in 125 sq yd land should get their property regularized free of cost, he said.

The CM also empowered the officials concerned to auction small bits of lands, vacant lands and those without constructions and prevent future encroachments.

The Chief Minister asked the officials to take up regularization into four categories of 125 sq yd, 250 sq yd up to 500 sq yd and above 500 sq yd.

While 125 sq yd land will be regularized free of cost, those occupying 250 sq yd land will have to pay 50 per cent of registration value, people occupying up to 500 sq yd land have to pay 75 per cent and those above 500 sq yd should pay cent per cent.

All business establishments like hotels, institutions and companies should regularize through payment of 100 per cent of value, he said.  

KCR expressed concern over poor maintenance of Nalas and most of their space was illegally occupied.

He also directed the officials to submit a report on encroachments of Nalas and bunds being stagnated due to rains and storm waters.
