Lady Minister and Lady MP fight for Assembly ticket!

Lady Minister and Lady MP fight for Assembly ticket!

The demand for tickets in the ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for the upcoming Assembly polls is significant.

There are three to four strong contenders in every Assembly constituency who are causing sleepless nights for sitting BRS MLAs.

One such constituency is Dornakal in the undivided Warangal district. This seat is currently held by BRS veteran leader Redya Naik.

Redya Naik initially won on a Congress ticket in 2014 but later defected to BRS. However, he won the 2018 Assembly polls on a BRS ticket.

But now, at the age of 70, Redya Naik is facing health issues related to his age.

Additionally, his performance reportedly falls short in the surveys commissioned by BRS, and CM KCR is said to be against giving Naik a ticket this time.

In light of this, Naik is attempting to secure the Dornakal ticket for his daughter, Maloth Kavitha, who is currently a Lok Sabha member from Mahabubabad.

Naik wants his daughter to play a significant role in state politics and hopes she will replace him in Dornakal.

However, Minister Satyavathy Rathod, who is an MLC from Mahabubabad, is vigorously lobbying to secure the ticket from Dornakal.

Both women leaders in BRS are competing with each other to secure the ticket and have been extensively touring the Dornakal constituency. This has led to rifts among their respective supporters in the constituency.
