Notwithstanding the rumours that he is behind the revolt of the Seemandhra MPs and MLAs against the Centre’s decision on the Telangana issue and that he is mobilizing funds for the proposed new party of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the Congress high command has selected outgoing Rajya Sabha member K V P Ramachandra Rao for a re-nomination to the Upper House.
According to reports from New Delhi, the high command has selected KVP and another outgoing MP M A Khan for the RS polls to be held on February 7.
For the third seat, the high command has selected former IAS officer Koppula Raju, who is said to be an advisor to Rahul Gandhi. Raju has been selected in place of outgoing member Ratna Bai.
Apparently, the Congress party does not have the intention of fielding a fourth candidate, as it has an understanding with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi which has fielded former MP K Kesava Rao.
The selection of KVP is, however, surprising, as there is a talk that he is hand in glove with Kiran in floating the new party.
With his renomination, it is pretty evident that Kiran is playing the game at the direction of the high command!
