Now that Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao has appointed his son K T Rama Rao as the working president of the party, there is a talk that there would be transfer of powers from father to son on decision making in the party as well.
First of all, the statement on appointment of KTR as party working president was released to the media from the Chief Minister’s Office, rather than the party office. It clearly shows that KTR has gained control over even the CMO.
Secondly, the statement clearly shows KTR is not just working president but actually an executive president, a term which appears to be newly coined.
Inquiries with the party leaders revealed that a working president will hardly have any powers and he has to run the show when the president is away, but an executive president is as powerful as a de facto president of the party with all executive powers.
If the talk doing rounds in the party circles are to be believed, it will be KTR who will have all the powers in the party and the government hereafter and any party leader should approach only KTR.
For all practical purposes, KCR will keep away from routine party affairs and he will attend only important meetings occasionally.
“There is no surprise even the ministerial berths and allotment of portfolios are decided by KTR and KCR will focus only on national issues in the coming days,” party sources said.
