If the report appearing in a local English daily has to be believed, Panchayat Raj and IT minister K T Rama Rao is likely to be anointed as the president of Telangana Rashtra Samithi, in place of his father and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
According to the report, KTR would be formally elected as the TRS president at the party plenary to be held in the city on April 24. Later, he would address a massive public meeting at Secunderabad Parade Grounds on April 27.
The report says KCR has not been able to concentrate both on the government and the party at a time. So, he suggested the opinions of his close confidants on stepping down from the TRS chief post and hand it over to his son KTR. And everybody appreciated the idea. KCR said it would help him focus completely on the government so that he could fulfill the promises made in the manifesto, the report said.
The TRS sources have neither denied the report nor confirmed it. May be, it could even be an April Fool prank by the daily!
