KTR Moves Privilege Motion Against CM

Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA K Taraka Rama Rao on Thursday gave notice of a  privilege motion against the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for what he said as violating the procedures and practices of the Legislative Assembly.

KTR said that prior notice was required to quote the comments of any MP, which were made in the Parliament by any legislator.

But, the Chief Minister quoted the comments of Indira Gandhi, which were made by her in the Lok Sabha, without giving notice, he pointed out.

Reminding that Kiran Kumar Reddy had assured the members that he would abide by the decision of the Centre and the Congress high command on Telangana Statehood, he pointed out that  the latter had  failed to keep up his promise, and opposing  the decision of the Congress high command on  bifurcation of the State.

On this ground, he moved a privilege motion against the Chief Minister, KTR said.

KTR also said that the Chief Minister should be referred  to as leader of the divided House, but not the leader of the House.
