The unsavoury comments made by Telangana Rashtra Samithi working president and state IT minister K T Rama Rao against the “bad conditions” in Andhra Pradesh have naturally evoked sharp comments from YSR Congress party leaders, triggering a virtual Andhra-Telangana row.
State education minister and senior YSRC leader Botsa Satyanarayana shot back at KTR strongly, saying it was unbecoming on the part of the Telangana minister to talk about the neighbouring Telugu state and demanded that he should withdraw his comments.
“He has quoted his friend who came to Andhra Pradesh for Sankranti holidays and commented on the bad roads and lack of power and water supply. But I am coming from Hyderabad just now; there was no power at my house in Hyderabad for two days. We had to manage on generator. What does KTR say about it?” he asked.
Reacting to Botsa comments, TRS MP from Chevella Ranjith Reddy said Botsa might not have paid current bill for his house in Hyderabad; that’s why there was no power supply.
“But we are enjoying uninterrupted power supply,” he said.
Another senior YSRC leader from Vijayawada Malladi Vishnu found fault with KTR for making tall claims about Hyderabad, which was developed with sweat and blood of Coastal Andhra people.
“It was Andhra people who taught culture to the people of Telangana. Because of their investment, Telangana was developed. KTR should come to Vijayawada to see the progress and development in AP,” he said.
Vishnu warned that if KTR continued to make such remarks, the days for combining both the Telugu states would arise.
He said Andhra Pradesh stood number one in implementing the welfare schemes and the people were very happy with the Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
