KTR as CM if only TRS gets 70 to 80 seats

KTR as CM if only TRS gets 70 to 80 seats

TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is believed to have devised a 'strategy' on elevating his son as Chief Minister of Telangana, in the event of TRS reelected to power in the Assembly election results to be announced on December 11.

TRS party is abuzz with reports that KCR took a 'firm decision' to make KTR as CM, if TRS secures absolute majority and forms government on its own without depending on any party.

This could be if TRS secures seats in the range of 70 to 80 seats.

If TRS gets seats in the range of 60 to 65 seats, KCR wants to continue as CM and wait for the government to consolidate till MLAs from other parties join TRS.

In case of TRS getting 70 to 80 seats, KCR wants to make KTR as CM by March 2019 and shift to national politics to play a 'key role' in Lok Sabha polls to be held in April/May 2019.

KCR is learnt to be of the view that he could handle national politics effectively only if his son runs the TRS government comfortably with its own majority.

KCR has apprehensions that KTR could not run a  'shaky government' dependent on others.

He also suspects that Congress and Chandrababu may try to topple his son's government running with wafer thin majority and his son could not take on Congress and Chandrababu like he did in 2014.

KCR formed government with just 63 MLAs in 2014, but could take the partys' tally to 90 by encouraging defections from all parties and completely marginalising Congress and TDP, which had significant numbers.

KCR doubts KTR's ability to do this in similar manner if he shifts to national politics later.
