The YSR Congress MLA from the Nellore Rural constituency, Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, has announced that he will contest the 2024 general election as a TDP candidate.
It is known that Kotamreddy, along with some others, are dissatisfied with the YSR Congress leadership and are considering the TDP and Jana Sena for the upcoming election.
The so-called "yellow media" gave highest priority to Kotamreddy's statement in an effort to highlight conflicts within the YSR Congress.
However, the media failed to realize that by prioritizing Kotamreddy's statement, they had implicitly admitted that the TDP lacked sufficient candidates or that potential candidates were declaring their candidacy without TDP approval.
The TDP was unable to question Kotamreddy for his declaration to run on their behalf and did not deny his claim.
This also reveals that Chandrababu Naidu is weak, as candidates are announcing their intentions without his approval.
Kotamreddy is not the first to declare his candidacy from the TDP. Narsapuram MP K Raghurama Krishnam Raju has also declared his candidacy twice from the TDP.
However, Raghurama has also declared his candidacy from the Jana Sena, so he is not taken seriously.
What is surprising is that the TDP is allowing YSR Congress leaders to declare their candidacy for the next election.
It raises questions about whether this is the TDP's strategy to undermine the YSR Congress or if the TDP is simply unable to find suitable candidates.
