Ravela Kishore Babu’s speech at a function in Vijayawada has stirred a hornet’s nest.
The controversial Minister had attended a programme organised by Andhra Pradesh Christian Welfare Association (APCWA) where he addressed the congregation and said, “I was told by our friends [religious heads] that today, according to unofficial figures, there are 20 to 30% Christians in the 13 districts which means about 90 lakh of the total population of five crore.
The word of God is spreading and is being heard everywhere and if this continues, it won’t take long I think for this State to become a land of Christ.”
Needless to say, the BJP is incensed at this part of the Minister’s speech. By the way, does the word of God not include proper upbringing of one’s children, Ravela?
How else can one explain the Banjara Hills incident in which a case was filed against your son for molesting a teacher belonging to the minority community?
His idiocy could have sparked off a communal riot. Although the word of god is spreading, at least to Ravela Kishore Babu, it seems to be having poor audio.
