Telangana State BJP president G Kishan Reddy, who has been in the post for the last two terms, is no more interested in competing for the post again.
He told media on Wednesday that he was not in the race for Telangana BJP post again.
“I don’t even have interest in aspiring for any post at the national level. Irrespective of the posts and positions, my objective is to strengthen the party in the Telangan region,” he said, adding that he would continue to highlight the failures of the TRS government, especially its callousness towards growing number of suicides by farmers in the State.
According to party sources, he might be replaced by Dr K Laxman, party floor leader in the Assembly.
Of late, he has been playing a very key role in every agitation taken up by the party. He is also a powerful speaker, who can raise his voice against the government.
On Friday, he led the rally of his party MLAs and MLCs from Nizam College to the Assembly.
When the BJP legislators arrived near the Assembly, police prevented them from going in a rally in to the Assembly premises. However, after some hiccup, the party MLAs, who were wearing saffron attire, were allowed inside the Assembly.
