Bharatiya Janata Party Telangana unit president G Kishan Reddy, who has been dreaming of making it to the Cabinet of Narendra Modi, is likely to get the opportunity.
Kishan Reddy, who failed to get the Secunderabad Lok Sabha seat in the recent elections thanks to intense lobbying by former minister Bandaru Dattatreya, had to remain content with Amberpet Assembly seat which he had won. However, he is keen on getting into the Modi team at any cost.
Now that the Medak Lok Sabha seat falling vacant due to resignation of Telangana Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao who had retained Gajwel assembly seat, Kishan Reddy’s chances has improved. On Monday, Kishan Reddy declared that his party would contest for Medak Lok Sabha seat.
Speaking to mediapersons after addressing Telangana State unit office-bearers’ meeting, Kishan Reddy said the party would take necessary steps to strengthen the party in the State.
He said the party would enter fray in the Medak LS by-elections, but did not specify whether he would be in the race. But sources said Kishan is trying for the seat strongly and might get it.
