Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy is understood to be getting ready for waging a legal battle against the Centre, if it rejects the Assembly resolution rejecting the Telangana bill.
According to sources, the Chief Minister is planning to move the Supreme Court soon a couple of days before the introduction of the Telangana bill in Parliament, so that the court would grant stay on the bill.
He knows that once the bill is passed by Parliament, there is nothing that he can do.
Sources said the Chief Minister has no option now but to take to legal recourse as the last option to stall the passage of the Bill.
He prepared enough ground to wage a legal battle and his move to write to the President for some more time is also part of this exercise.
He is of the firm view that the court might consider the plea and grant stay.
