Kiran team on damage control mission

Apparently realizing that the Congress high command has decided to sack Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, his coterie quickly got into action to do the damage control by displaying its loyalty to the party high command.

The Seemandhra ministers like Anam Ramnarayana Reddy, Kondru Murali, Vatti Vasanth Kumar and Maheedhar Reddy, who are known to be part of Kiran’s coterie, came out with a new slogan: “Save Congress, Save Andhra Pradesh,” indicating that they would continue to be loyal to the party, but fight for Samaikyandhra. Obviously, they are trying to put a moral pressure on the high command to withdraw Telangana proposal only to save party in the Seemandhra region.

Anam said the Congress party should not be blamed for taking a decision in favour of Telangana state, as it had made the announcement only after holding extensive deliberations and consent of all political parties on division of the State.

Pointing out that the TDP was not uttering “Samaikandhra” even now at the height of the agitation, Anam lashed out at the YSRCP leadership for conveniently picking up unity slogan political gains in spite of speaking in favour of separate Telangana at late CM YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s Samadhi at Idupulapaya after his death.

“From now, we will go to the people with “Save Andhra Pradesh” and “Save Congress”. Reminding that Samaikyandhra agitation erupted in the Seemandhra region after the CWC delivered its decision in favour of State division to carve out separate Telangana State, the Finance Minister bemoaned that the future of the students remained a big question mark with all political parties taking a U turn on Telangana for political fortunes and Congress was no exception.
