At a time when the State and the Centre are racing against time in completing the process of Andhra Pradesh bifurcation to see that two new States would be formed by June 2, former Chief Minister and Jai Samiakhyandhra Party president N Kiran Kumar Reddy is still trying to fool around the people, saying that he would stop the bifurcation of the state.
Addressing a road show at Kadiam in East Godavari district on Saturday, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that the Centre had violated the set norms and procedures in passing the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Bill and the same would be struck down by the Supreme Court.
He said several legal experts, including BJP senior leader Arun Jaitley has opined that the bifurcation process adopted by the Congress-led UPA Government would not stand in a court of law. Therefore, he expressed confidence that the Telangana Bill would again be introduced and debated in Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly and both the Houses of Parliament.
Appealing the people to vote for his party, Kiran Kumar Reddy said that his party would play a crucial role in stopping the division of the State. He said he was not willing to accept the division till the Supreme Court delivers its final judgment on the issue.
Kiran Kumar Reddy slammed all the political parties including Congress, YSRCP and TDP-BJP combine over the State's bifurcation. He said several leaders including MPs tried their best to stop the bifurcation process, which was carried out in an unconstitutional manner.
