Kiran plays fiddle as Seemandhra burns

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has virtually thrown his government to winds as is evident from his callousness in  handling the agitations in Seemandhra region against the state bifurcation move of the Centre.

He is learnt to have commented at his closed-door meeting with his close associates that he has no interest in running the state.

“The agitations in Seemandhra have been a follow-up to the Central government’s decision. I have nothing to do to stop the agitation, because I myself is opposed to the Centre’s decision. It is for the Centre to take steps to douse the fire and I have nothing in my hands,” he is learnt to have said.

The Chief Minister is not even bothered by the reports that the Seemandhra activists are attacking the houses of Congress leaders across the state.

On the other hand, he is learnt to have instructed the police not to use force against the agitators.

“Nindaa munigina vaaniki chali enduku? (Why should somebody feel cold when he is in neck-deep waters?) When I am not bothered about losing my post, why should I take steps to bring the situation under control?” he is asking.
