Union minister Jai Ram Ramesh made a startling statement that it was Kiran Kumar Reddy who was behind vitiating the minds of people from the Telangana and Andhra regions.
Ramesh said that instead of dealing with people of both regions compassionately, Kiran Kumar Reddy had instigated divisive tendencies among them.
What was surprising is that he made these comments while claiming that Kiran Kumar Reddy was a good friend.
He also disclosed that he had visited Kiran Kumar Reddy at his residence. However, that did not stop him from criticizing Kiran Kumar Reddy for his politics.
Jai Ram Ramesh said that while there was nothing wrong with opposing bifurcation, he said by working outside the party framework, Kiran Kumar Reddy had messed up the entire situation.
He also blamed Kiran Kumar Reddy’s behaviour for the delay in bifurcation and said that Kiran Kumar Reddy chose to make the right move by putting forth his resignation.
However, his comments have raised many questions. For one, if the High Command felt that Kiran Kumar Reddy was poisoning the minds of people why didn’t they curtail him at the beginning? When Kiran Kumar Reddy was voicing his opinions against bifurcation, why was he not stopped? Did the High Command wake up to his role suddenly?
