Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who went to New Delhi on Tuesday morning, appeared to be more interested in attracting the attention of the national media, rather than prevailing on the high command to stall the Telangana process till elections.
Kiran went on giving interviews to the national media in New Delhi in the wake of the finalization of the Telangana bill by the Group of Ministers.
Obviously, he wants to boost up his own image at the national level as the sole champion of Samaikyandhra.
Instead of making an attempt to meet the party bosses, the Chief Minister chose to hold meetings with the Seemandhra leaders at AP Bhavan to discuss the future strategy.
The meeting was attended by union ministers, MPs and legislators from the coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema region.
The Chief Minister has reportedly resolved to go ahead with the proposed dharna on Wednesday.
The venue of Chief Minister's dharna has been shifted from Shakti Sthal, the memorial of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, to Jantar Mantar.
Minister TG Venkatesh informed that the Chief Minister and other Seemandhra leaders would first pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi at his Samadhi and then proceeds towards Jantar Mantar to hold a silent protest.
