Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Bandaru Dattatreya on Saturday ridiculed Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for his comments made in Assembly seeking to know which region he belonged to.
Dattatreya told media persons that Kiran did not deserve to be in the CM post and he should immediately resign from his post for failing to respect Constitution with regard to Telangana Statehood bill.
He said Kiran was a typical characteristic mixture of lacking understanding, foolishness and headstrong.
“The Chief Minister must withdraw from the top post if he has any morals and commitment for democracy. He was demeaning himself by seeking in the Assembly about his origin,” he said.
Dattatreya took strong exception to Kiran for his “Samaikyandhra” remarks in the Assembly.
“How can the Chief Minister go back on his previous promise of abiding by his party decision on giving statehood to the region?” he asked.
The BJP senior leader also found fault with the YSR Congress party for changing its tack on bifurcation.
The YSRCP must abstain from cheating their own people by adopting dual standards on the Telangana issue, he said.
