Contrary to the reports appearing in various media, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy did not discuss the issue of Andhra Pradesh bifurcation or Telangana issue with President of India Pranab Mukherjee when he called on the latter at Rashtrapathi Nilayam on Sunday.
This was clarified by the Chief Minister’s Office on Monday.
The CMO officials said the news appeared and telecast in some sections of the print and electronic media stating that the Chief Minister had discussed with President about the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Bill and politics was baseless and far from truth.
“In fact, it was purely a courtesy call by the Chief Minister to the President of India, who is on his Southern sojourn in Hyderabad. It is unfortunate that the courtesy call was termed as political,” the CMO said.
