Kiran Amassed Rs 10,000 Cr!

Former minister Dokka Manikya Varaprasada Rao on Thursday alleged that former chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy amassed about Rs 10,000 crores by illegal means.

Dokka appealed to Governor ESL Narasimhan to order an inquiry into Kiran’s illegal earnings during the last six months before resigning as Chief Minister and take immediate action.

He said he had sent a letter to the Governor as he could not get an appointment with the latter.

Alleging there are allegations against Kiran that he was involved in illegal business of minting money from Rs 5,000 crs to Rs 10,000 crs through the back door and amassed enormous illegal wealth, Dokka suspected that there may be some truth behind these allegations.

The former minister felt that Kiran was trying to escape an inquiry by the CBI or other by floating a new political party, which is of no use.

That was only the tactic of Kiran, who aimed at getting AICC post after resigning in protest against bifurcation decision taken by the Congress government.

There is a widespread criticism that Kiran has cleared a number of files in the last minute for extraneous considerations, the former minister maintained.

The former minister also alleged that like never before in the history of the government, the Kiran Government encouraged corruption in the transfer and postings of IAS and IPS officers in plum posts, he said.

“Right now, I own a car and a flat on hire purchase basis. I did not involve in corrupt practices. I have some old assets which I possessed before joining politics”, he maintained.
