It was Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu who had introduced the concept of accepting commissions for granting funds for the irrigation projects.
This was alleged by TRS MP from Nizamabad Kalwakuntla Kavitha. Lashing out at the TDP chief, Kavitha accused him of neglecting water resources in Telangana during the TDP’s regime.
Rubbishing the TDP’s claims on the Palamuru irrigation project, Kavitha said through this project water can be provided to seven lakh acres of land additionally in the parched district of Mahabubnagar.
“Not just Mahabubnagar, Naidu ignored every irrigation project in Telangana and was responsible for pushing Nizamabad into drought. He now has no moral right to talk about Telangana,” said Kavitha.
She also questioned why the TDP leaders were not talking about the RDS project and what they were doing when leaders of Rayalaseema strongly opposed it and destroyed it with their influence.
