The TDP leaders belonging to the Kamma community are unable to digest Lok Satta leader Jaya Prakash Narayan’s meeting with Aam Aadmi Party leader Kejriwal.
In 2009, Lok Satta polled 1.5 per cent votes. During that time, the difference between the Congress and TDP’s votes was minimal and many leaders still feel that had JP not floated his party, it would have helped the TDP.
(However, Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam party polled 17 per cent votes and this made a huge dent in the results of TDP, which is a secondary matter). Being a Kamma himself, many elder Kamma TDP leaders could not take JP’s move easily.
Now, they are totally against the tie up between Kejriwal and JP. They are expressing the same during their private conversations.
The TDP leaders were hopeful that the urban youth would vote for their party during the forthcoming elections.
The Aam Aadmi Party is likely to sway this vote bank during next elections.
However, many are finding it difficult to come to terms with the fact that it is Jaya Prakash who is welcoming AAP into AP. They have also made sure that JP knows their angst.
We will have to see how JP will react to this.
